On February 4, 2025, during a parliamentary session in Ghana, an unidentified member of the Minority side directed a deeply derogatory remark at Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle and daughter of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings. The comment referred to her as the "daughter of a murderer," referencing allegations against her father.

This incident has sparked significant outrage and condemnation. Members of the Klottey Korle constituency have petitioned Parliament, urging the Speaker to take decisive action against the unidentified MP responsible for the remark.

In response to circulating rumors, Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Damongo, publicly denied making the offensive comment. He emphasized his respect for the late President Rawlings and his family, stating, "I have utmost respect for Former President Jerry John Rawlings, his family, and Dr. Zanetor Rawlings in particular."

Dr. Donald Agumenu, former Special Assistant to President Rawlings, also condemned the incident, highlighting the importance of upholding the dignity and fundamental human rights of Dr. Zanetor Rawlings. He expressed concern over the deteriorating standards within the legislative body and called for respect and decorum in parliamentary discourse.

This event has ignited a broader discussion about the conduct of parliamentarians and the need for maintaining professionalism and respect within Ghana's legislative processes.
